Bill Bree is called out of retirement to start up and run the athletics program at Murrieta Mesa High School. Bree had successfully done that previously at Golden West High School in Visalia where he served for 25 years. Bree has been recognized state-wide and nationally and has been very involved in the California Interscholastic Federation.


First Varsity Athletic Contest

October 13th, 2009 Girls Volleyball played the first Athletic Contest on Campus. Our Ladies Rams Lost a close match to Oak Hills losing 2 games to 1. 

 

 


First Victory

October 30th, 2009 Varsity football secured it's first victory in school history by defeating Citrus Valley (Redlands, Ca) by a score of 22-20.

Lower Level Competitions

Mesa Athletics opened it's doors to Freshman and Sophomores which primarily limited all of our athletic contest to lower level contest. We did not officially begin varsity competition until the 2010-11 Season.

January 26, 2010 Mesa Basketball played their first home varsity game with a win of 62-36 vs. Riverside Prep.

Mary Walters

Mary Walters named the first principal  of Murrieta Mesa high school. She's served in the district since 1991, first as a teacher and then as assistant principal and deputy principal at Murrieta Valley High School.

Girls Basketball first Victory

January 26th, 2010 Girls basket won it's first home game vs. Riverside Prep with a score of 40-29. Freshamn Antonia Carmona led the lady Rams in scoring with 12pts. Tiffany Carmona and Vanessa Keys led the charge on the boards with 6 rebounds each.

September 7th, 2010 Girls Volleyball secured it's first varsity victory by defeating Lakeside High School (Lake Elsinore, Ca) in a tough 5 game match. Game 5 ended with a score of 15-13 in favor of the Rams. 


Chambers Leads Mesa to first home victory

October 1st, 2010 Sophomore quarterback Chase Chambers leads Mesa to it's first home victory at Ram Stadium. The Rams defeated Shadow Hills(Indio, Ca) 28-0. Chambers put on quite the aerial display throwing for 350 yards and 2 touchdowns.

2/13/13: 1st Boys Basketball CIF Playoff victory in school history vs. Palm Springs High School 62-60 on a last second bucket by Shane Staton


 

Khalil Sharpe in 2012 he was the most decorated athlete in the history of all of Mesa sports.  Khalil was the only Mesa athlete to have ever been selected to the CIF – Southern Section 1st Team list for two years in a row (2011 and 2012.   He was a 3-time All-Southwestern League Selection at wide receiver.  He was a 2-time All-Valley selection in football.  Khalil held the Inland Empire’s ALL TIME leading receiver for several years after.

First Mesa Southwestern League Victories (Boys and Girls) March 24th 2011 against Chap (Sovavcool, Schaeffer and Ballou were all coaches that year)


Dunkel Earns first Varsity Win for the Lady Rams

March 14th, 2011 sophomore pitcher Courtney Dunkel earns Varsity Softball it's first victory in program history by defeating Arrowhead Christian by a score of 11-2. Dunkel also led the attack on offense with a team high 2 RBI's.
